Basic Silversmithing skills – Make a ring

Following on from my successful completion of the At The Bench Fundamentals diploma, I am now offering basic silversmithing skills as a class.

The cost is £35 per hour plus materials.

I think 3 hours seems to work for this class so I am basing my first few classes on this. If you would like to bring a friend the £35 per hour fee is shared by both of you, you will simply need to pay extra for the materials.

In this ring class I will cover the following:

Measurement to make a ring

Piercing skills

Texturing ideas

Soldering the seam

Shaping your ring

Adjustment for size

Polishing

At present, I am finding my feet with this in terms of timings, so it may change as I move along, thanks to feedback from students.
