Description
In this one day course, you will learn the basics of silver clay, which will enable you to make your own jewellery (pure silver once fired). You will then fire and polish your work. 10g of silver clay will be provided within the course fee and this is usually enough to make 2 to 3 pieces depending on your design. This class generally runs for around 3.5 to 4 hours, but sometimes depends on how much finishing we need to do to your pieces. Silver clay can be fired by torch, on a gas hob or using a kiln, I will talk you through all 3 processes. I also offer technique specific classes, such as making and soldering silver stud earrings, wraparound rings, using silver paste to make leaves in jewellery, plus more as I have time to list them. I will cover the aspects of design that will work best for creating enamelled work and then once fired we will look at adding some glass enamel details to your piece or pieces.
If you’ve never tried this medium it is the quickest way to achieve fine silver jewellery and the feel of it is pure alchemy. If you are into eco crafts, you could argue this is perfect as the silver is recycled from the car manufacturing industry.

COST
My home workshop only fits up to 3 people, which means any course booked will not be cancelled due to low numbers.

The course price shown is for ONE to ONE classes. (If another person wants to book the same date as you, I will get in touch to discuss this.)
If you are booking for 2/3 people the course fee will be reduced per person. 2 people will be £99 each and 3 people would be £89 each.
Class runs from 10 – 3pm. Classes take place in Colchester, Essex.
