A great chance to book silver jewellery class

I have a last minute opportunity open up to book a silver clay jewellery class here at CG Crafts on a Saturday (weekends are generally very booked up). I’ve discounted the class slightly and there are further discounts to be had (as always) if you book together as a 2 or 3.  The class takes place here in Colchester. The date available is Saturday 10th September, or look on my website for other dates.

The class covers the basics of making silver clay jewellery (hallmarkable silver once fired) and at the end of the session you will take home your finished pieces. 10g of silver clay (around £30 worth of supplies) is included in the course fee.

I am a certified PMC instructor although use both PMC and Art clay brands, a level 3 qualified teacher and have been teaching specialist craft classes for over 15 years.

Certified

During lockdown 1.0 I started doing my PMC Certification. This means I have learned a whole load of additional silver skills which I am really excited to be adding to classes next year. I have now successfully completed level 1 and level 2.

The picture shows some of the techniques I’ve learnt. Did you know you can incorporate broken ceramic pieces into your jewellery? Or that a simple plain bisque bead can be jazzed up with some silver paste?

The course also enabled me to add on some extra silversmithing skills, including fitting a bezel and mirror shining my silver. I can’t wait to start level 3 and then once we’re able to pass on all these extra tips to my lovely students. Speaking of which silver clay vouchers (and others) can still be purchased as Christmas gifts until midnight on Christmas eve.
Best wishes and a Happy festive period to you. Toni x

Summer school, radio madness – what’s going on with the weather?

After all the excitement of being interviewed on Colne FM last week

(click here to listen – please note there is button to skip through the Frank Zappa!!) and 3 nights out in a row, this week has been a mixture of tidying the house (what on earth happened to it) and setting up for this weeks’ summer school. I still have a couple of limited spaces if you fancy booking in last minute. Email me.

The aim of the summer school is to showcase all the classes I teach – don’t forget I also teach silver clay jewellery but if you can’t make it this time do get in touch and I can organise dates to suit, or tell you where else I might be teaching if you prefer larger classes.

I also managed to squeeze in a trip to the fabulous Stanley Kubrick exhibition – so now have a 5 film box set to plough through…but that will need to wait until all the forthcoming tennis has finished…unless of course we get more of this crazy weather stopping play.
